Who are Ape & Frog?

K and Lynx formed Ape & Frog as a community space and source of fun products and opportunities for marginalized people, with a large focus on sustainable and recycled materials, sensory needs including touch, visuals, and sound, and conservation efforts for all animals, including humans. Our space always prioritizes inclusivity and accessibility.

K is a multi-disciplinary artist with extensive experience in the fields of zoology and animal care, analog and digital visual arts (painting, illustration, photography, cinema, and more), mechanical engineering (mechatronics, prototyping, additive and subtractive manufacturing), medical care and design (tattooing scar-coverups, prosthetic design and development, biophillic design, medical-environmental design), artisan crafts (wood, leather, and metal work, silicone and resin casting, sculpting, welding, smithing), and just loves making things in general. You’ll often see some inspirations from nature in their work, whether it’s the influence of natural biomes designed into commercial spaces, the biomechanics of animals in their medical design work, or the many original characters created with unique animal traits in mind.

Our Products and Services

In addition to the makerspace aspect of Ape & Frog, we offer a variety of services such as tattoos from a selection of our resident artists, custom and official A&F products including plushies, collectibles, and apparel, and a variety of art from local artists. You’ll often see us vending at local markets with our products, but you can also shop here on our site! Most of what we make is also available for in-store pickup at our studio/makerspace.

Meet Our Artists

From tattoo artists to crafters and artisans, our studio is home to a variety of talented creators. Have a look through our artist bios!

Handmade

Wherever possible, our products are handmade (so you might find some small variations between items). We often offer customization and we welcome ideas for collaboration.

Recycled and Upcycled

Conservation and environmentalism are important to us; we prioritize using recycled and eco-friendly materials, whether it’s our BCI-sourced cotton, plant-based inks, or recycled-plastics-turned-faux-fur. If we’re not recycling, we’re upcycling items like vintage apparel and accessories.

For creatures, by creatures

One of our primary focuses is comfort, whether that comes in the form of satisfying sensory needs, personalizing your orders, or offering accessible means of reaching our brand and products.
